I am still alive and on the road to recovery. Although yesterday I would have told you I was on my deathbed with a sore throat and a headache that threatened to split my head in half. I barely made it to pick up Bear and get home. Luckily Bear was tired and went down for a nap so I could medicate myself and take a nap. My husband made it home around 6:30 and picked me up some food before meeting a customer for drinks.
I got Bear fed and put to bed and decided to crash around 9. I took a shower and some more medicine and settled in for the night. Around 11 my phone rings and I get out of bed and dig for my cell phone and see its my husband calling. Only it wasn't my husband. It was his customer asking me where we live because he is trying to drive my husband home but my husband can't tell him where we live. Apparently someone can't hold his liquor. So I'm throwing on a sweater, my glasses and some flip flops over my pjs and directing this guy to my house. I go out to meet them and my husband is completely wasted. I get him into the house where he collapses on the living room floor. The guy needs a ride back to his hotel room. I move the truck so I can back out and get my keys so I can drive the guy back to his hotel. The whole time he is offering to walk back to the hotel even though its 11:30 at night and he has no clue where he is. And I am trying to explain that I am not mad I am just glad he didn't let my husband drive home. It was all very exciting let me tell you. Luckily this is the first time he has ever done anything like this while we have been married.
Needless to say I was a little tired this morning. I did however get a chance to talk to my boss today and put in my notice. So its official. In the next couple of months I will be a stay at home Mom. It is a little scary. I'm not sure when my last day will be yet. I told my boss May 9th but if she gets me replaced sooner then they may not need me that long. So it may even be sooner!

Congrats on being a stay-at-home mom! You're going to love it!! I hope you get to feeling better soon! What did your husband have to say about last night?
Congrats on being all official -- how exciting! I know you must be relieved and just thrilled. Did your boss respond well to your news?
Congrats about making your decision and putting in notice! I can tell just from reading your blog it's what you've really wanted and the right decision for all of you- good luck!
I think I would have killed him. Or just sat and laughed my ass off. That's a great story. You'll get lots of mileage out of it, embarrassing him at key moments by retelling it.
1. I'd be pissed at my husband - and mess with him by leaving containers of alcohol all over the house in places you know he won't want to see it the morning after . . . like in the refrigerator, on the toilet in the batroom, etc.
2. Work sucks!
My husband did this once but it was before we had kids. But... I was also sick (!) and I had to get out of bed to go get him. Needless to say, he slept on the couch that night!
Congrats on entering the world of SAHMs! It's kind of like a roller coaster, a little scary at times, but lots of fun anyway!
That is great news! I'm sure you'll start counting down the days until you're official and AT HOME.
And the story about your husband is too funny!! I bet he was feeling as good the next morning!
SAHM.... YEah! It's hard isn't it to have the courage to hand in that notice. Not sure why but it's a scary step, just wait though you will love it. Congrats! BTW thank you for your comment.
I can't imagine what I would do if my husband ever did that I would probably be mad but I would also probably have to laugh... kind of like laughing & crying at the same time. hehehe... Have a great day.
Hope you are feeling better soon......thank you, thank you, thank you...so much for your sweet, wonderful words on my birthday post!
You made my day!
smiles, kari (& kijsa)
Congratulations! How did your boss take the news? I hope they can find and train your replacement quickly, so you can get into being a SAHM with little delay. You sound so excited about it!
