Well we survived the Superbowl/Birthday Party last weekend. It was a lot of work and I was exhausted when it was all over. We only ended up with 2 couples and 2 kids but with everyone hanging out for nearly 6 hours we ate enough food for 20 people. I am so glad it is over. This weekend my neighbors had their son's 1st birthday party and she went all out with food, games, bouncy house, pinata, favor bags, etc. It was nice to be able to go over and enjoy it all and then go home at the end of the night.
I have been working on more domestic pursuits lately such as expanding my recipe collection. I think I get tired of cooking because I am cooking the same recipes over and over. Today I did not one but two recipes from The Pioneer Woman. If you haven't visited her recipe site you are missing out. I made her biscuits and gravy for breakfast and then Penne a la Betsy for dinner. Yum! Although my heart (and my waist) can only take her recipes in moderation. If you have any favorite recipe blogs you want to recommend please let me know. I plan on tackling Bean Paste's Welsh Rabbit and Chicken Pot Pie this week as well. It is nice to be excited about cooking again.
We also put some finishing touches on Bear's new room this weekend by hanging some stuff on the walls. We put up the new baby's name on the nursery wall too. I even picked up my first package of wee diapers for the new baby today. Squee! It is getting more and more real now. I am 29 weeks 5 days today, I had Bear at 32 weeks % days so I want to be prepared this time around in case I get another anxious stork in a hurry to make a delivery.

How exciting being 30 weeks! I am 35 weeks tomorrow. It is almost over. Hang in there!!
I too, have been trying new recipes. I want to learn more crock pot recipes. I only know 2. They are so incredibly easy, because you make it in the morning and the mess can be cleaned by the evening dinner time.
So exciting! That little guy will be here before you know it! :-)
I also love the Pioneer Woman's recipes. Because we tend toward low carb, we're a little better off for them, but yeah, they're not the healthiest set.
I did this recently with my recipes. I'm LOVING Dolly Parton's cookbook. A little weird to admit, but definitely worth buying. It's a bunch of good ole country recipes. LOVE her salmon patties and they're soooo easy!
i always forget to check out her recipes! i need to do that!
