Inquiring Minds want to know

Ok. So I was buying winter clothes for Bear today. I picked up some 12 month stuff but I am not sure what to buy next. I am used to clothes in 3 month increments. He went from Preemie clothes to newborn to 0-3 month to 3-6 to 6-9. Now I am getting 12 month. Why is it that after 12 months you go to 18 month? Why is there no 15 month? The 18 month stuff looks so big? Is it that they don't grow as fast after 12 months? Or they grow faster? I am so new to all this stuff. Then you go to the 2T, 3T , etc.

Don't even get me started on buying baby shoes. I always have to consult the internet to figure out what size I am supposed to buy but yet they seem to run big to me or maybe Bear just has little feet? (Don't tell his Daddy I said that)

Ack. I need help....

In my experience, the 12 month clothing will last a while. They tend to slow down a bit at about a year.

Having said that, it's more art than science so you'll have to gauge when it's time to buy the 18 month. Rule of thumb, however, is always buy the next size up from where they are now.

As for shoes, the feet don't grow as fast so you can usually get some wear from them before moving on.

Good luck!

They do tend to slow down around a year. My son wore 12 month clothes starting at 6 months, and just got out of them around 15 months. Some of the 18 month clothes are too long (pants! ;)) etc...

You are right, an in between would be nice, but probably won't happen! :)

Shoes are a whole other story. I am still confused on those! LOL

Good luck! :)
