So much for relaxing

I had planned on hanging out with Bear and relaxing in our jammies today but alas it didn't work out that way. At around 1 a.m. I awoke to the bathroom light blaring into the bedroom and the water running in the bathroom. That only means one thing. My husband is sick. Really sick. I spent the rest of the night bringing him cokes, water and aspirin while listening to him throw up.

He was running a fever of 102.4 around 10 a.m. so off to the store I went for Gatorade, chicken broth and Probiotics. I have spent the day doing laundry, chasing my child, and tending to my sick husband. I made a second run to the store when I realized I forgot to buy stuff for the dip I am making for my women's group tomorrow night. Fun stuff.

Men are such babies when they are sick. I know he doesn't feel well but he has been asking me to do stuff non stop all night and day. I want to feel sorry for him but I can't help but be a little miffed that the last 3 times I was sick like this he trotted off to work and left me home with the baby. Yes he could have taken Bear to daycare so I could have at least been sick by myself but he was always running late and didn't think it would be a big deal for me to take care of the baby while dying of the stomach flu. Sorry, I just had to hop up on that soapbox for a minute. I knew you guys would understand. Now if you will excuse me I need to feed Bear dinner, heat up more broth for my husband, put fresh sheets on the bed, and make cupcakes for tomorrow's group.

Ok, this is my THIRD TIME attempting to comment on this post. Stupid blogger wouldn't let me comment earlier!

Um, anyway. I hope you don't get sick - wash wash WASH your hands! And Tilex the hell out of everything!

I feel your pain. My man's a wuss when he's sick too. Unfortunately, being home all day isn't always fresh baked goods and sparkling toilets. :) I didn't have the heart to tell you before you left your job, LOL!

Why? Why does a penis give a person the right to be sick when they're sick and a vagina means that you have to do all your normal stuff anyway? I have never understood that. I have to check into a hospital to get anyone to bring me stuff when I'm sick. GRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Oh God. The hubby is ill. I swear I hate when mine is sick. They require CONSTANT care. We however get to suffer. Why is that? I hope and pray you don't get it!

Poor baby - can he reach the bowl of broth without straining himself, or do you need to spoonfeed him?
Sorry for being so bitchy, but like I've said so many times before - if it were men who had to give birth, the human race would have been extinct before dinosaurs and dodo birds. No way would they have survived having their 'lower lip pulled over their head and stapled to the back of their shoulders' - as someone described giving birth.

I am with on the men are babies thing! Seriously, there have been times when I was sick as a dog and still managed to care for the baby and clean the house.

But when hes sick.....oh man he just lays there whining and shouting orders.

Man that makes me mad!

I emailed you, but just to make sure you get the message, I'm leaving a comment here. You won the $25 gas card to BP from my Bloggy Giveaway! Congratulations! I just need to know how to get it to you.

Oh, and I totally agree with the men being huge babies when they're sick. When I'm sick, nothing really changes. I just feel terrible while I do all the work that has to be done. When my husband is sick, he moans and groans and lays on the couch until he is 100% back to normal!
